Commentary by Phil Bradley

Can you recommend a search engine that allows me to interrogate a variety of other search engines at the same time?

The type of search engine that you're talking about is what I refer to as a multi- or meta-search engine. You type in your query once, and the multi-search engine then passes it on to a number of other engines, gets the results and then correlates them in some way. One that I've been playing around with is called Ez2www (www.ez2www.com). It searches some of the major engines such as Google, Alltheweb, Yahoo and AltaVista. It has a lot of different features and functionality and has already become my favourite.
